    Instructor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Program

    The College of Idaho invites applications for part-time instructors to develop and/or teach one or
    more courses as part of the College’s new Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program, an online,
    asynchronous program with the mission to provide PAs with knowledge and competencies to
    contribute to advance their careers across a range of health care roles and systems. The program
    will welcome its first students in the summer of 2024.

    The College seeks experienced faculty members to develop and/or teach courses in the field of
    health systems science (evidence-based practice, equitable delivery of health care, health care
    finance and delivery systems, etc.). When developing courses, expectations include: facilitate active
    student learning through online delivery; leverage multiple asynchronous learning modalities
    (instructional audio and video content, innovative required reading, engaging discussion board
    prompts, and application-based assignments) to facilitate the development of doctorate level
    competencies; and design assessment measures commensurate with course requirements. When
    teaching courses, expectations include: establishing and maintaining a motivating environment for
    adult learners by offering effective feedback consistently and timely; developing a relationship with
    students by engaging in weekly online discussions and critical feedback on assignments; evaluating
    student progress by timely grading of course content; and if relevant, providing guidance and
    encouragement during the scholarly project experience by fostering a knowledgeable and positive
    perspective for quality improvement in the healthcare environment.

    The College of Idaho is committed to providing equitable, high impact learning opportunities and to
    embracing the cultural and diversity of our region. This a remote position and therefore provides
    for the opportunity to work remotely from almost anywhere in the United States without
    relocation. The position requires collaboration with other DMSc faculty/staff members during our
    standard business hours, and if relevant, participating as an active faculty member on specific
    departmental committees.

    Qualifications
    Candidates must be a NCCPA-certified PA or PA-C Emeritus and have successfully completed a
    doctoral degree in health care-related discipline by position start date. Candidates must also
    possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical or other health care-related work experience;
    have experience teaching coursework in or related to the field of health systems science (evidence-
    based practice, equitable delivery of health care, health care finance and delivery systems, etc.); and
    have experience teaching in an online, asynchronous health care-related program.

    Applications should include: (1) a cover letter addressing your interest; (2) a curriculum vitae;
    and (3) contact information for three references. Additional materials may be requested after
    initial review.

    Please submit application materials to HR@collegeofidaho.edu with subject DMSc Instructor.
    Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
