Being an Instructor - Legal Support provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Legal Support typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     About this position: Independent Living Skills Instructor (Part-Time)

    You would work one-on-one with people with developmental disabilities. You would empower your clients to reach their personal goals of independence and community participation. You would teach life skills in a motivating, personalized, and professional environment.

    • As a part-time Instructor, you would have a caseload of around 3-6 clients. We have clients available all over Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
    • No experience required!
    • This job is a good way to gain experience in the fields of social work, social services, mental health, or case management. We seek applicants who want to make a difference in the lives of others and are both gifted teachers and teachable themselves.
    • You will receive training and have the opportunity to support clients with the following goals:
    • Money management
    • Medical, dental, and medication management
    • Basic cooking and meal preparation
    • Utilizing public transportation
    • Locating affordable housing
    • Obtaining and maintaining benefits such as Social Security, Medi-Cal, Medicare, etc.
    • Community involvement and socialization goals
    • Household maintenance

    Work Schedule:

    We have part-time positions available. Part-time is considered 20-29 hours per week. You may choose to work less hours. You have the opportunity to set your own schedule. You can work a consecutive 7 hour day between the hours of 8am and 7pm, Monday through Friday, driving time included.

    Requirements:

    • A desire to help others.
    • Reliable Vehicle
    • Valid Drivers License
    • Auto Insurance (100k/300k bodily injury liability)
    • Pass a DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance.

    Job Type: Part-time

    Salary: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
