EIS is currently hiring for a Mechanical Designer to work at a plant location in the Greater New Orleans area.  As the Mechanical Designer, you would work with the client site design team to support site projects and operational needs.

About the Position

• Design piping and equipment layouts
• Take general direction from the onsite Design Supervisor
  
• Perform field verifications as required
• Capable of completing design and project deliverables with minimal input from the project lead

Required Qualifications

• Be in good standing with DISA and valid TWIC are required
• Must have authorization to work for any U.S. employer
• Proficient with Microsoft Office for daily inter-office communication and documentation

Education and Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience working in a refinery or chemical plant and/or with a consulting firm representing similar
• Experience in 3D modeling utilizing CADWorx required.

Physical Requirements:

• Outside work often requires moderate physical exertion including climbing scaffolding, kneeling, bending, taking field measurements and walking projects
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).  This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, still toed shoes, or other equipment as required.  
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
