The Middlebury College Summer Arabic School is pleased to announce vacancies for a temporary Instructor of Arabic. These in-person positions are available during the summer 2024 session (June 19 - August 17, 2024), located on the Bennington College campus in Bennington, Vermont, USA.

Our unique 8-week program combines a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. This is an opportunity to join a community of learners by actively engaging in teaching, dining, residing and leading co-curricular activities with students while reading, writing and speaking exclusively in Arabic.

While at Middlebury, lodging and meals will be provided.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a (DML, ABD, or with strong experience teaching Arabic to American students in higher education may also be considered).

The successful candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of success working as a member of an instructional team.

Candidates with a creative, dynamic, and flexible approach with openness for accepting new teaching methods and environments will be an excellent fit in the Arabic School.

• A letter of interest, summarizing their teaching philosophy and how they will contribute to the Arabic school;
• A current curriculum vitae (CV);
• Two letters of recommendation;
• All student evaluations from the last academic year;
• An original copy of the highest degree earned (translated into English if issued in another language)
