Instructor - Music teaches courses in the discipline area of music. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Music provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Music typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Duties:
- Provide piano lessons to students of various ages and skill levels
- Develop individualized lesson plans based on students' goals and abilities
- Teach proper piano technique, music theory, and sight-reading skills
- Help students prepare for recitals, competitions, and auditions
- Monitor and track students' progress and provide feedback for improvement
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching piano lessons to children and/or adults
- Proficiency in playing the piano with a strong understanding of music theory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage lesson schedules and materials
