Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Physics typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.   • Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Physics courses. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Dean of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and is slated to begin in fall 2024.

    Responsibilities

    • The full time faculty member has the primary responsibility of teaching Physics and Physical Science courses.
    • Teaching schedules may include in person, online, hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities that enhance student learning.
    • Teaching responsibilities include innovative and engaging use of technology in the classroom.
    • Additional activities include curriculum development, academic mentoring/advisement, participation in Departmental and Division activities and support of college activities
    • Engage in professional development and remain up-to-date with advancements in the field of Physics.
    • Active service on division and college committees.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
     Qualifications
    • Ph.D. in Physics or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Three years’ experience in higher education.
    • The ideal candidate will have excellent teaching skills, good interpersonal skills and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty as demonstrated by experience in higher education.
    • Effective communication and teaching skills, with a passion for helping students understand and apply physics concepts.
