Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Physics typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Other Conditions:  For placement in lecturer pool beginning Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025.  Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funding.  May be for courses during the day, evening, off-campus, and/or via distance learning, as needed.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Teaching lectures and/or laboratory classes for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Physics and/or;
    2. Teaching General Education lecture and/or laboratory physics courses offered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
    3. Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. Master’s degree in physics or a closely related field from an accredited institution. 

    Desirable Qualifications

    1. Experience in teaching physics classes at the college level.
    2. Experience with physics laboratory equipment.
