General Description
The Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Montevallo invites applications for a one-year Clinical Instructor position, beginning Fall 2024. The successful candidate must have evidence of excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with specialization in the following fields of psychology: Cognitive, Community or Counseling, Clinical, or Multicultural. Minority applicants are encouraged to apply. The candidate must be able to teach four courses per semester as assigned. Courses will likely include: Foundations in Psychology, History of Psychology, and undergraduate courses within the instructor’s specialization. Additionally, the position requires a service component which includes advising. Research is not required.
Essential Job Duties
Teach four classes each semester, advise students, serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
Education and Experience
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited program in psychology.
Applicants who are ABD will also be considered with evidence that they will complete their Ph.D. by the date of employment.

The University of Montevallo is a small, public liberal arts university located in Montevallo, AL, approximately 30 miles south of Birmingham, AL – Alabama’s largest metropolitan area.
