Instructor - Psychology teaches courses in the discipline area of psychology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Psychology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Psychology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Farmingdale State College invites applications for a lecturer position in Psychology to support the Child Development Associate (CDA) Micro credential program. The CDA micro credential provides students with a pathway to become an early childhood educator. The successful candidate is expected to have a Master-level degree in either Psychology or Early Childhood Education and extensive experience working in childcare centers. The successful candidate will also have college-level teaching experience. Lecturers teach 15 contact hours per semester and are required to hold 5 office hours. Additional responsibilities include advisement, departmental service, as well as curriculum review and development.
