Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Job Summary/Basic FunctionPart-time adjunct instructor of sociology. To teach one or two courses per semester as needed.
**This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in Sociology or closely related field.
Must be Utah resident.
Preferred QualificationsTeaching experience preferred.
Ph.D. in sociology preferred.
