The University of South Carolina Union invites applications for a 9-month, full-time Instructor of Spanish. Teaching requirements include face-to-face and distance education, potentially including evening and/or weekend classes, along with teaching dual-enrollment classes at the USC Union campus and at various affiliated high schools. This role will entail instructing five courses per semester (5-5 course load). A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, as well as participation in university and community service, is expected. The selected candidate will have the responsibility of teaching introductory Spanish courses and any upper-level courses as needed.
Demonstrated dedication to exceptional teaching and engagement with both the campus and local community is essential. Excellent communication skills, a commitment to fostering collegial relationships, and a strong dedication to undergraduate education are required.
Required Education and Experience
Candidates must possess a master’s degree in Spanish from an accredited university by the beginning date of employment, including credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach introductory and upper-level courses as needed.
