Being an Instructor - Special Education provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Special Education typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time temporary Instructor for the 2024-2025 academic year to teach/oversee:
Supervision of student teachers (grad and undergrad)
Supervision of field students
Special education undergraduate courses (i.e. SPED 315 or other undergraduate coursework as needed.)
Special education graduate courses (i.e. SPED 617, 625, 648)
Minimum Qualifications1) Three years successful teaching in public schools.
2) Masters degree or doctorate in special education or related field.
3) Commitment to the education of diverse populations.
4) Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration.
Preferred QualificationsAdministrative experience in special education.
