Insurance and Risk Management Director oversees an organization's overall insurance program to manage and minimize risk and costs. Manages strategic objectives and policies to ensure effective insurance coverage for the organization. Being an Insurance and Risk Management Director conducts regular policy reviews and research. Compiles loss trends and reviews actuarial estimations to make recommendations. Additionally, Insurance and Risk Management Director administers systems to collect data and generate meaningful models and reporting to support decisions. Creates processes that identify risk exposure and classify, measure, and manage insurable risks. Develops the appropriate mix of insurance coverage for the organization and negotiates policy pricing and terms with vendors. May review and approve policy renewals and applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Insurance and Risk Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Insurance and Risk Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Day to day, you will identify, assess, and manage risks across the organization; plan for and implement responses to major threats; and develop and implement strong non-employee risk management programs. To thrive in this job, you must have proven professional experience in the field of risk management; have earned your FRM, ARM, or other professional risk management designation; and possess excellent cross-functional leadership skills.

The full salary range for this position in [LA Metro, Oakland, D.C Metro, is $125,480 - $188,220] and [Sacramento, NOLA, is $119,206 - $178,809] and [Denver Metro is $112,932 - $169,398] with the exact salary depending on experience. New staff are rarely brought in at the top of the range to ensure internal equity while leaving room for salary growth during an employee’s time at College Track.
