The Department of Agricultural Biology is committed to excellence in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about insects, plant pathogens, and weeds in agricultural, natural, and urban ecosystems. Our mission is to enhance human well-being by improving ecosystem sustainability. In addition to generating new knowledge, we apply knowledge in entomology, plant pathology, and plant sciences to solving practical problems related to biotic and abiotic plant stress, integrated pest management, and ecosystem health. People in Agricultural Biology participate in and value cooperative and collaborative efforts with other units within the University, as well as with individual stakeholders and other organizations in Colorado and beyond. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program Manager will support the mission of the Colorado Center for Sustainable Pest Management and manage IPM implementation activities in Colorado. The position will assist in management of the Center and the IPM program by providing logistical support and coordinating Center planning meetings and activities, creating content for and maintaining the Center website, collecting data to illustrate the impact of the Center activities, and assist in grant writing and publications. This position will also lead a social media campaign focused on promoting IPM and assist in diagnostics training. The position will also lead independent research projects and extension programming and participate in undergraduate and graduate student mentorship to support the Center mission. The person in this position will also be responsible for research and extension project management.
