Overview

Engineering Designer - Seat integration

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and release of all seating system related components
• Support will include standardization plan development, interface with product design office, vehicle development, other Interior engineering teams, and suppliers to design, develop and release
• Responsible for internal design practice / regulation conformity on all applicable components / system
• Responsible for quality design proposal(s) within stipulated timeline to all related components
• Support for technical documentation to include DFMEAs & DVP&R’s
• Support actively within a cross-functional teams, and plant teams on the greater benefit of the vehicle
• Maintain EBOMs and manage data releases in accordance with program milestones
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure technical excellence
• Support for quality improvements, cost reduction, and validation
• Benchmarking, DFM, and DFA studies as and when required

Design Support for the virtual analysis teams to meet various Regulatory and test requirements

Qualifications

B.E./B. Tech or M.E/ M. Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production and Industrial Engineering

Skills

Essential:

3 to 6 years of product design & development experience in automotive seating system components (Structures, foams, plastics & Jit components) Working experience in component & system level designingProficiency in NX / CATIA along with Team center / Enovia PLM systemGood Knowledge in Manufacturing & Assembly feasibility studyExperience in component level and full vehicle DVP&R and DFMEA Knowledge on foam, plastic molding, and sheet metal processesKnowledge on seating system regulatory and certification requirementsGood in CAD modelling, technical report writing, timeline creation & management, and communication & presentation skillsWork experience with International Tier 1 and OEMS

Desired Skills

Desirable:

Familiarity with GD&T and dimensional engineeringKnowledge of strength, durability, regulatory and safety requirements for seating systemAutomation / customization in NX / CATIA activitiesEssential: EnglishExpertise in UG NX / CATIA V5/V6 and Enovia / Team center Knowledge in MS-Office
