Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Project Design Engineer to join our team in Lafayette, LA. In this role, you will work on challenging projects that require creative problem-solving skills and technical expertise while collaborating with clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review engineering designs, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards
• Create detailed technical documentation and drawings using Autodesk Inventor
• Design structures, equipment, vessels, and machines for fabrication
• Perform engineering calculations including Finite Element Analysis and classical hand calculations
• Manage client relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Travel to client locations, including fabrication facilities and production sites
• Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing
• Participate in client meetings and design reviews
• Contribute to proposal development and project planning phases

Required Technical Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Software
• Experience in design and drawing creation for fabrication
• Expertise in Finite Element Analysis
• Strong foundation in classical hand calculations (fluids, statics, dynamics, stress)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent note taker
