    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Job Title:

    Mental Health Integration Coordinator

    Direct Supervisor:

    Assistant Director Student Support

    Job Summary:

    The Mental Health Integration Coordinator will oversee the coordination of both new and

    existing school-based mental health services within the ESD 105 service region as part of the

    Mental Health Integration Project (MHIP). This role involves collaboration with school district

    personnel, OSPI, and regional behavioral health service providers to develop and integrate

    mental health services at identified sites. The aim is to transition these services from mere co-

    location to full integration through a Multi-Tiered System of Support model.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Provide grant management, grant reporting and oversight of grant deliverables for assigned
    federal grants.
    • Represent ESD 105 at state and local meetings and help to coordinate support between state
    partners and local school districts.
    • Work closely with the student support team at ESD 105 to coordinate support and resources
    to districts assigned.
    • Coordinate, plan, agenda and facilitate regular required meetings for the grants assigned.
    • Work closely with the student support team at ESD 105 to develop and coordinate a mental
    and behavioral health consortium of providers and participating districts to help facilitate the

    integration of behavioral health services into the school buildings.

    • Work with designated school superintendent(s) or designees to provide leadership in the
    development of school and community mental health services to include safe school

    environment, responsive early intervention services and referral and monitoring support.

    • Assist in securing funding and grant writing to support sustainability of services.
    • Coordinate and support the completion of SHAPE Assessments and other tools at designated
    school sites and help in development of school planning for implementation of project goals

    based on the assessment.

    • Coordinate the integrated delivery of the Mental Health Integration Project (MHIP) for
    services and support to students, their families, including but not limited to supervision of

    staff, budgeting, recruitment and program evaluation.

    • Support school districts in building integrated behavioral health services to the district’s
    MTSS model.
    • Conduct and coordinate training of staff as needed.
    • Ensure the collaboration with other relevant social service agencies (i.e., health and human
    services, youth development, Health Care Authority).
    • Collect and monitor required data and ensure timely submission to the State or Federal
    Project Manager.
    • Develop long and short-range staffing plans and ensure staff compliance with grant
    regulations.
    • Develops positive relationships with school district staff members for the purpose of
    gathering and conveying information and building continued partnerships.

    Qualifications:

    Required Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in behavioral health, education, or related to program

    management.

    2. Minimum of two years of experience in managing and working with state and/or federal

    grants.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Master's degree, preferably in behavioral health, education, or related to program
    management.

    2. Experience in program management and/or grant management
    3. Experience working in education.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and or Abilities

    1. Plan, organize, direct and coordinate activities to support grant deliverables.
    2. Analyze and interpret laws and regulations governing behavioral health services.
    3. Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    4. Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
    5. Knowledge of current principles and practices of behavioral health administration.
    6. Knowledge of the purposes, functions, and activities of various mental health care providers.
    7. Knowledge of cultural, religious, and social attitudes about mental health.

    8. Must have high self-motivation and initiative skills in accomplishing required responsibilities.

    9. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills

    10. Willingness and ability to travel to school districts in ESD 105 service region and some out

    of state travel for national conferences.
