    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Coordinator of Refugee Intensive Services works with staff to provide Intensive Case Management services to (refugee) clients who face unique vulnerabilities. The coordinator shall ensure compliance guidelines as spelt out in the Preferred Communities and Wilson Fish grants. This role requires assisting the refugees navigate the new environment in the course of their resettlement journey to access appropriate resources in the community. Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings EEO. CCNEK is an equal opportunity employer.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

    • Work with refugees in the Intensive Case Management to develop Self Sufficiency Plans, set specific goals, and complete appropriate follow-up assessments and report the outcomes.
    • Works closely with the RSS Manager, to learn and implement guidelines for services in the Refugee Preferred Communities Grant as outlined by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB)
    • Provide training and supervision to case management staff and interns in the Wilson Fish Case Management Program. 
    • Supports RSS Manager with program compliance and ensuring documentation – including self-sufficiency plans, case notes and assessments – are completed on time and according to grant guidelines for WF and ICM. 
    • Collaborates with relevant staff to evaluate clients for case management, ensure proper enrollments and services, refer for Psychosocial services, and continuity of care.
    • Provides ongoing orientation, coaching, and support the staff to prepare them to adequately assist clients to obtain the goals identified during self-sufficiency planning. 
    • Make appropriate referrals; collaborate with external partners to ensure crisis intervention for effective services to the clients. 
    • Completes needs assessments, sets timely intervention, tracks progress and completes appropriate reporting, using appropriate databases and quarterly reporting tools.
    • Identifies client and program needs, conducts staff supervision, advocates for clients, and works closely with the RSS Program Manager to assure needs are addressed.
    • Maintains professional conduct with clients as identified in the NASW Code of Ethics and abides by all program policies and procedures and acts as a mandated reporter.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Requirements

    MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Must have at least one year of experience working with refugees in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in social work or human service field or comparable experience. 
    • Experience in managing own caseload preferred.
    • Previous supervision of staff is preferred.
    • Must be able to type and know how to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to ensure accuracy in participation tracking and case management reporting.
    • Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment with familiarity of refugee populations and be able to ensure confidentiality of all clients.
    • Must have a valid Missouri or Kansas Driver’s License and a verified safe driving record as well as reliable means of transportation for local travel to complete client services. 
    • Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities and must be willing to perform by the agency’s values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self-control and joy.     • Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving
    • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds 
    • Must have the physical ability to complete assignments in a variety of environments: conduct home visits to the clients, sometimes contend with extreme heat, humidity, dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
    • May be exposed to infectious diseases
    • Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with others
    • Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving
