The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), under minimal supervision, is responsible for independently performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues that includes standardized microscopic, chemical, and/or bacteriological testing. The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) testing is performed in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures, FDA, CAP, OSHA, CLIA, and Joint Commission regulations and guidelines. Test results are used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Job Duties:

The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:

• Follow laboratory procedure for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of test results; Follow laboratory quality control policies

• Documenting all quality controls activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance

• Identifying indicators that may impact test performance or reporting of test results and either making corrections or notifying Lab Supervisor

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture for all age groups

• Collect specimens for drug screens, pregnancy tests, etc.

• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

• Maintain patient and specimen information logs

• Ordering, receiving, and distributing laboratory stock as needed in laboratory and treatment area

• Adhering to safety policies as defined by OSHA

• Providing positive, warm, and friendly customer service in all interactions

• Completing other duties as directed
• Knowledge of the following equipment: Tosoh 900, Coulter – CBC, Tosoh G8, Centrifuge, Clinitek, Vitros, etc...

• Must have an Associate Degree
• Must have ASCP Certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
