ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Ensure assets of Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel are properly safeguarded in conjunction with Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel policies/procedures, Lower Sioux Indian Gaming Commission Tribal Internal Controls, and the National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Controls.
• Review internal controls for compliance with Lower Sioux Indian Community Gaming Commission approved Tribal Internal Controls (TICS).
• Perform tests of Revenue Audit documentation and review for accuracy and compliance with TICS using the NICG MICS checklists.
• Perform audits of Operational activities for compliance with TICS and Department Internal Control Procedures and operating efficiencies.
• Provide written reports as a result of audits/tests to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel Executive Management Team and the Lower Sioux Indian Community Gaming Commission.
• Review for any deficiencies and recommend corrective action to the Director of Finance and the General Manager. Obtain documentation of corrective action.
• Review updates/changes to Department Internal Control Procedures to ensure compliance with TICS.
• Coordinate internal scheduling and documentation needed for external auditors for Agreed Upon Procedures audits.
• Observe cash counts as requested by Director of Finance.
• Observe inventory counts as requested by Director of Finance or General Manager for various areas of the Casino/Hotel.
• Comply with all guidelines as established in the TICS.
• Work closely with the Lower Sioux Indian Community Gaming Commission.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance or related field, and 3 years of experience as an internal/external auditor; OR
• Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance, and 5 years of experience as an internal auditor; OR
• 7 years of experience as an internal auditor.
• Experience in the gaming industry helpful, but not required.
