Maintenance Technician-Mechanical (1st Shift)

  • J ob Title: Maintenance Technician
    Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, with a focus on diagnostics, safety, and attention to detail.
    Responsibilities:
    • Perform routine and preventive maintenance (PM) on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation control issues.
    • Assist with line set-up and troubleshoot equipment during production.
    • Operate machinery and equipment as needed, including tow motors, trash compactors, balers, scissor lifts, banders, stretch wrappers, floor scrubbers, welders, torches, drills, grinders, etc.
    • Maintain accurate records of parts consumption and maintenance activities.
    • Maintain open communication with maintenance personnel and the maintenance manager to report progress, challenges, and requirements.
    • Perform special tasks and assignments as directed by management.
    • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and standards.
    Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
    • Industrial electrical, PLC, and automation controls experience.
    • Industrial mechanical experience, including diagnostics and repair.
    • Excellent safety attitude and track record.
    • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
    • Strong diagnostic and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
    • Must possess a valid MFM certified tow motor license.
    • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
    Preferred Skills:
    • Knowledge of maintenance procedures and operations.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold environments.
    • Ability to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting, carrying, and pushing objects up to 100 lbs.
    • Comfort working at heights, such as with scissor lifts and man lifts.
    • Requires good oral communication skills and the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues.
