Position Summary:
Reporting to the Career Services Director, the Web, Marketing & Communications Specialist (WMC) is responsible for coordinating and implementing promotional and marketing campaigns for all department-sponsored services, programs and events. The WMC delivers strategic communications to students, employers, and the campus community; collaborates with Career Services staff to develop and maintain content on the department website, social media sites, and Handshake; leads a team of interns responsible for designing and creating promotional materials; and coordinates all public relations, tabling, and media activities for the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelors Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or English
- Experience in public relations, marketing, event planning, or advertising
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to small and large audiences
- Experience editing the work of others
- Experience with web page development and maintenance
- Experience with using social media to promote and increase awareness
Preferred Qualifications:
- Past work experience managing, training, supervising/mentoring student employees to reach their full potential
- Experience designing marketing/promotional material using In-Design, Photoshop, or other desktop publishing software
- Past experience with assessment of outcomes
- Demonstrated project management experience to manage multiple projects at any given time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and editing skills
- Experience working in a collaborative, team environment
- Ability to professionally represent Career Services
