Investment Manager manages the securities, assets, and investment portfolios of a bank. Establishes investment policies to ensure financial activities are compliant with regulatory standards and requirements. Being an Investment Manager monitors and tracks financial markets, investment trends, and regulatory developments to implement successful investment strategies and recommends changes to manage risk and increase returns. Oversees and routinely assesses portfolio allocation to evaluate performance and alignment with investment objectives, strategies, and risk tolerance levels. Additionally, Investment Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Investment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Investment Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Technology Business Management (TBM) team powers American Express Tech Strategy by enabling Predictability, Transparency, and Efficiency through best-in-class Tech Business Management capabilities. Within TBM is the Technology Portfolio Management team (TPM) which powers technology, business, and product to achieve business and customer value by optimizing technology investments, elevating transparency and enabling decisioning through trusted insights and best in class portfolio and program management.
Within the Technology Portfolio Management team, the Manager of Enterprise Investment Planning will help drive and support the Technology Investment Annual Planning process, enabling process optimizations and promote greater accountability across multiple stakeholders within the Enterprise. This strategic role will actively drive and evolve changes to the existing process to enable the future state, managing the enterprise planning calendar and deliverable to drive investment decisions.
The ideal candidate will have a business-oriented and data-driven mindset, growing passion for process and driving innovation, and possess the ability to partner with others to drive changes. This highly visible role will require a collaborative orientation and strong attention to detail to help evolve the way we manage our technology investment.
This is a hybrid role based in New York; Hybrid colleagues work a mix of in-office and virtual days, coming into the office 3 days per week. Leaders and colleagues will plan common days for in-person connection, collaboration, and events.
