POSITION SUMMARY: The Paraprofessional Transit Asset Management personnel shall report to Director on matters of all asset health and safety and work together with the Safety Advisor in maintaining the field of safety for the transit department.  He/She will be responsible for monitoring the health of assets in all stages of their life cycle and compiling the health data into the Transit Management Plan (TAMP).  Continuous research to find PPE or equipment that can help be a proactive approach to safety and ease of access for all employees.  Grant writing for Transit Department under Federal Transit Administration (FTA) as well as reporting for grant applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspections of all assets (Monthly, quarterly, or yearly)
• Responsible for compiling yearly TAMP (Transit Asset Management Plan)
• Grant writing
• Reporting to NDT (National Transit Database)
• Covid 19 Response Tool
• Quarterly/Yearly reporting for FTA (Federal Transit Administration)
• Ability to interpret FTA policies and rulings
• Research for asset improvement for the transit department
• New vehicle intake and set up
• Researches and develops asset user guides
• Compiles data research for asset user guides
• Compiles data research for asset reporting
• Assists in maintaining all safety systems and policies
• Must learn to operate transit vehicle and go out on bus route

• Must learn dispatch software and take client calls Be at workstation at all times with the exception of scheduled break and lunch periods.
• You should be here and clocked in at least a few minutes before your scheduled shift.  This is so you can be prepared to start your work on time.
• Remember it is up to you to be ready to work by your scheduled time.

REPORTS TO: Must report to the Transit Director.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work consists, of bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, frequently lifting objects up to 24 lbs., and sitting for extended periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work will be conducted in office, outdoors, maintenance shop, and on bus routes

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Relevant work experience in automotive (Preferred)
• Experience working in a transit system (preferred)
