IT Capacity Planner evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Position Summary
Handle transportation related functions (invoicing, carrier reporting, carrier score carding) ensuring efficiency and cost effectiveness while keeping customer satisfaction at the forefront. Must stay in contact with our freight providers. Must be able to control 150 loads per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Owns the development and maintenance of strategic carrier relationships.
· Administers carrier rates and will conduct 2 RFP’s per year.
· Coordinates organization’s daily logistical operations by planning inbound and outbound shipments to internal and external customers based on needs.
· Provides internal and external stakeholders with weekly KPI’s and reports
· Utilizes problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, and continuous process improvement tools to meet and exceed department operating statistical goals.
· Serves as liaison between customers, freight carriers, and shipping departments.
· Ensures on-time delivery of goods to customers by investigating and resolving shipping or transit issues.
· Monitors changes/revisions to the orders throughout the life of the order through to delivery.
· Administers compliance with all regulatory bodies including DOT, USDA, FDA, EPA, OSHA, etc.
· Will be expected to perform on-call duties as scheduled.
· Entering discrepancies into the system and/or reporting them to customer as required.
· Weekend work and after hour work will be required.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Must have the ability to read, write and speak English
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in the meat industry with emphasis on logistics planning operations
· Must have good all-around knowledge of shipping/warehousing operations and techniques, food safety, inventory, and USDA regulations. Basic knowledge of OSHA.
· Proven facilitation and leadership skills.
· Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and communicate effectively with a variety of people at all levels and cultures.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Basic computer skills with excel experience preferred.
· Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States
Physical Demands
· Ability to see, sit, stand, hear, bend, walk, and talk for 8-10 hours per day
· Ability to enter operations areas. Tolerate heat and cold.
