IT Capacity Planner evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The City Planner is responsible for planning and optimizing transportation routes across multiple locations while utilizing CLI software to ensure cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency. This position involves planning and building loads and backhauls, and dispatching drivers. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
· Route Planning and Optimization: Develop and manage transportation routes across the city using CLI software to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure timely deliveries.
· Load Building and Driver Assignments: Plan and build loads and backhauls while assigning drivers to routes based on availability, proximity, and compliance with hours of service (HOS) regulations.
· Driver and Dispatch Communication: Communicate with drivers and the dispatch team regarding freight details, delivery/pickup times, special handling requests, and other essential updates.
· Performance Monitoring: Track driver locations, coach on performance and safety violations, and mentor new employees on federal regulations and company policies.
· Problem-Solving and Escalation: Identify and address potential delays, notifying stakeholders in advance of deadlines. Escalate complex issues to managers or supervisors when necessary.
· Customer Focus: Provide timely updates to customers and internal teams regarding delivery schedules, potential delays, and issue resolutions to maintain high customer satisfaction.
Requirements:Minimum Requirements• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Urban Planning, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience:
· 3 years of experience in dispatch, or transportation planning.
· Proficiency in CLI software, routing tools, and/or dispatch systems.
· Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000, based on qualifications and experience.
· Classification: Exempt, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
This is a full-time, at-will position
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Frequent walking throughout the facility and between departments as part of daily operational tasks.
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
· Ability to navigate each department and the company’s facilities as needed.
