IT Capacity Planner, Sr. jobs in the United States
IT Capacity Planner, Sr. evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Primary Responsibilities:
- Address all helpdesk tickets, calls, and emails in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain and repair end-user hardware and peripherals
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and network issues
- Deploy and move workstations, printers, and hardware peripherals
- Assist with IT inventory management and additional wiring projects
- Research, recommend, and implement new hardware and software
- Provide end-user training when needed
- Create system documentation and knowledgebase articles
Required Skills and Proficiency:
- Knowledge of Zebra thermal label printer repair and maintenance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows OS, Windows 11, and Office applications
- Experience with Google Chrome, VNC, virus detection and removal
- Familiarity with data wiring, hardware implementations, and network troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of Active Directory and PowerShell scripting
Desired Knowledge:
- Microsoft, A , Network , or related certifications
- Okta Identity Services, Microsoft Office 365, RingCentral Phones/Meetings
- Data backup and recovery tools such as Clonezilla and Shadow Copy
- Exposure to asset management and system monitoring software (e.g., Solarwind, Netwrix)

- Prioritization and issue resolution skills
- Ability to communicate technical issues in non-technical language
