We are a small natural hair care company seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to manage and oversee our organization’s daily finance and accounting operations. The Financial Controller will be responsible for supervising the work of accountants, managing financial statements, performing financial reporting, preparing reports for upper management, and conducting financial analysis. The role will involve overseeing accounting activities and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

● Implement and adhere to the company's or organization's financial procedures and policies

● Create efficient and effective methods for tracking financial data

● Use spreadsheets and sophisticated calculation software to gather and record financial information

● Coordinate and execute financial transactions and activities, such as bill payment, invoicing, payroll, etc.

● Assist in the audit/review process by providing information and data as requested

● Complete administrative tasks, such as filling out paperwork and filing records

● Create organized records and files to assist in tax preparation

● Analyze financial information for trends and errors

● Find solutions to discrepancies by working with other employees and correcting any erroneous information or calculations

● Monthly close out process and prepare regular financial reports and assist in the presentation of reports to managers and executives

● Create and adhere to budgets for specific departments, projects, and business needs

● Answer questions from co-workers, clients, customers, or stakeholders regarding financial information or issues.

● Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers

● Completing analysis of the employee expenditures

● Managing income and expenditure accounts

● Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data

● Keeping a check on the company’s finances based on financial status

● Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations

● Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the company

● AR and AP experience

● Payroll and high-level HR knowledge

● Supervisory Responsibility of 1-3 individuals

Education and Experience:

● CPA required

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Our office is located in Chicago, ½ block north of the United Center just west of Fulton Market

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
