Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an IT Project Coordinator typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. SkillBridge Intern - IT Project Coordinator

  • This is a developmental opportunity for active-duty military personnel who will be separating from the military in the next 3-6 months. The SkillBridge Internship Program is designed to provide on-the-job training and experience in the civilian sector to SkillBridge applicants. SkillBridge is a Department of Defense (DOD) program that matches civilian opportunities to a military member’s job training and work experience at the end of their military duty. Applicant must be eligible for the DOD SkillBridge program, as defined here: DOD SkillBridge Program (osd.mil) 


    We are looking for a responsible Project Coordinator to manage and organize multiple projects within Spokane County’s IT Department. The Project Coordinator will be collaborating closely with IT’s Director, Assistant Director and other managers as needed. He or she will be also developing comprehensive action plans for projects, including resources and timeframes. The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for various coordinating tasks such as schedule and risk management, as well as administrative duties such as project documentation maintenance. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent time management and communication skills, as you will work with clients and internal teams to meet deadlines. Finally, the Project Coordinator’s responsibilities include ensuring this project is completed on time and to high-quality standards. 


    • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment, and information.
    • Divide projects into manageable steps and set deadlines.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and define requirements, scope, and goals.
    • Assign tasks to internal teams and help with scheduling.
    • Make sure that stakeholders’ needs are met as projects evolve.
    • Analyze risks and opportunities.
    • Keep track of the project’s progress and deal with any issues that arise.
    • Serve as the point of contact for all project participants and communicate project status.
    • Work with the ITD and ITAD and project team(s) to identify and remove roadblocks.
    • Use tools to monitor working hours, plans, and expenses.

    • No previous work experience is required.  
    • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
    • Skilled in project management, from conception to delivery.
    • Skilled in organizational skills, including multitasking and time management.
    • Skilled in strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
    • Knowledge of risk management and quality assurance control.
    • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g. Basecamp or Trello).
    • Knowledge PMP / PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
