IT Quality Assurance Process Consultant develops quality assurance, compliance, and implementation plans for individual IT functions that support the organization's overall service and software quality standards. Advises function leaders on best practices for the deployment of QA methodologies and processes. Being an IT Quality Assurance Process Consultant designs and incorporates plans for each function that drive quality service and product deliverables. Establishes a performance monitoring program and designs metrics that can be used to identify quality issues, analyze problems, and develop quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, IT Quality Assurance Process Consultant trains staff on quality concepts, objectives, tools, and processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
· Conduct procedures to ensure that all IT systems, products, and services meet minimum standards and requirements.
· Work closely with the applications development team during software development, to include areas of applications development, operations/technical support, and security.
· Administer change control processes to ensure zero defect software development.
· Document testing data, findings, and reports.
· Create a database (history file).
· Provide requested weekly/bi-weekly/monthly reports and regularly updates assigned manager/supervisor.
· Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.
· Perform workflow analysis and recommend quality improvements.
· Recommend new/improved QA practices and procedures.
· Mentor and provide guidance and training to new and/or lower-level staff.
· May assist with the preparation of QA documents, manuals, training curriculum and training sessions.

What You'll Need for Success:

· Extensive knowledge of applications development, operations/technical support, and applicable security programs/practices.
· Ability to identify and resolve problems or assist in the development of creative solutions, when necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
· This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
Difficulty of Work:
The Quality Assurance Analyst uses considerable judgment in selecting the most pertinent guidelines to follow. Work is broad in scope and requires in-depth analysis of multiple variables to fit various circumstances of a medium to complex enterprise-wide system.
Responsibility:
The Quality Assurance Analyst works closely with higher-level staff and/or management to outline general objectives and boundaries that this individual will follow to meet the requirements of the agency. Unusual problems or deviations from guidelines or practice are discussed with the manager at the discretion of this role. Work is reviewed for attainment of objectives and compliance with policy and practice.
Personal Work Relationships:
· This individual will be expected to partner with agency personnel and related stakeholders working towards completion of assigned functions. Exceptional customer service is provided to agency partners and/or the general public.
Physical Effort:
· This role performs work in an environment where sitting for extended periods of time could be expected.
