The Quality Control Inspector will maintain a firsthand role throughout the manufacturing process for systems compliance. This includes working as a collaborator to ensure customer orders are ready for on-time delivery, quality defects are at a minimum and system compliance is adhered to. Position will be working in a challenging environment with changing priorities and will need to stay focused and on task.

The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that commonly make up the job description of Quality Control Inspector:
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Inspects materials received, work in process and finished products using conventional inspection instruments to ensure conformance with work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Responsible for all inspection documentation.
- Must maintain inspection process and documentation in compliance with AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) standards.
- Evaluates data and documents inspection data to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Performs nondestructive tests (under supervision) on materials, parts, or products to measure material characteristics.
- Performs visual inspection of welds on fabricated product.
- Evaluates product for conformance to various welding codes (AWS D1.1, ASME VIII.1, etc.)
Major Responsibilities:
- Randomly select products for quality control inspection at various stages in the production process, and test products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
- Review of Material Certifications, Material Test Reports, Certificate of Conformance, Data Reports, against relevant standards and specification, and Purchase Order requirements.
- Record test data, applying quality control procedures.
- Inspecting incoming products for dimensional, traceability, count, and material conformance.
- Generate Non-Conformance Reports as well as other internal departmental report forms, as required.
- Ensure calibration of shop calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments is maintained and up to date.
- Assist QC Manager in establishing and maintaining a culture of Quality within the organization.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit/stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, see with close vision.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
- Must have the ability to move easily between buildings and possible limited work outdoors.
