    STARTING WAGE:   $45,500 annually

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position will perform basic information technology (IT) support duties to ensure smooth delivery of technology services. Monitors, operates, and assists IT personnel with the operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals to achieve desired results. Utilizes computer equipment, software, and diagnostic tools to perform a broad range of customer assistance, production job processing, equipment maintenance and repair, and computer operations assignments. This role will serve as the primary contact for primary care, with an emphasis on providing support to medical, requiring training to service medical hardware and software. Requires minimum supervision and may act as lead when the need arises. Exercises judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly and determines when to refer problems to the supervisor or next level of support.

     

    This position requires compliance with Health Center’s compliance standards, including its Standards of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the position’s regular performance evaluation.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides front-line end user technical assistance for computer hardware and software, smart phones, other devices, and primary care IT systems.
    • Sets up and configures desktop computers, peripherals, and primary care IT equipment.
    • Installs software, installs and repairs hardware and peripherals, and supports primary care IT applications and devices.
    • Assists in the development and establishment of standards, strategies, guidelines, and procedures for general IT and primary care IT support.
    • Performs software deployments, software patching, asset management, licensing compliance, computer security, and tests programs, including medical IT software.
    • Troubleshoots, diagnoses problems, implements corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines, and/or escalates to other technical resources as appropriate, specifically for primary care IT issues.
    • Sets up security access for new employees; disables access for terminated employees; manages changes to employee permissions, ensuring compliance with primary care IT security protocols.
    • Provides orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new or existing software, computer equipment, and primary care IT systems.
    • Maintains records/logs of repairs, fixes, maintenance, and/or additions to hardware inventory, including primary care IT equipment.
    • Manages hardware lifecycle, including decommissioning, surplus, and disposal of hardware and peripherals, with specific attention to primary care IT equipment.
    • Manages vendor relationships for IT and primary care IT services, including facilitating contract agreements, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
    • Performs related duties as required.

    MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The work is typically performed in an office.

     

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to manipulate, handle, or feel; and, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally objects up to 50 pounds, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

     

    This position requires operation of a motor vehicle.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be 18 years or
    • High school diploma or equivalent, and specialized training in the field of work including college courses, certificate program, apprenticeship, etc.
    • Two (2) years of experience related experience, sufficient to understand the major duties of the position, and moderate knowledge of computer software and hardware and be able to troubleshoot basic problems.
    • Possession of valid driver’s license issued by the State of Alaska with a clean driving record
    • Must successfully pass a criminal and background check, and a pre-employment drug
