Job Summary:

As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in analyzing and managing the financial aspects of our organization’s operations. You will be responsible for calculating and monitoring costs related to production, inventory, and various business processes. Your insights and reports will guide decision-making processes aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

     1.    Cost Analysis:

     •     Analyze production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.

     •     Conduct cost variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

     •     Track and report on cost trends over time.

     2.    Budgeting and Forecasting:

     •     Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

     •     Monitor budgetary performance and provide regular reports to management.

     •     Identify areas of cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

     3.    Inventory Management:

     •     Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and valuations.

     •     Perform regular inventory reconciliations to minimize discrepancies.

     •     Evaluate inventory turnover rates and recommend adjustments to minimize carrying costs.

     4.    Cost Control:

     •     Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives.

     •     Monitor and enforce cost control measures throughout the organization.

     •     Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce costs.

     5.    Financial Reporting:

     •     Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting reports.

     •     Provide management with insightful analysis of financial data.

     •     Assist with the preparation of financial statements.

     6.    Compliance and Auditing:

     •     Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

     •     Assist in internal and external audits related to cost accounting.

     •     Maintain accurate documentation for audit purposes.

Qualifications:

     •     Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

     •     Proven experience in cost accounting or a related role.

     •     Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

     •     Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL required

Manufacturing experience a plus.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• MS EXCEL (pivot tables, SUM IF, Vlookup, Xlookup, Index): 4 years (Preferred)
• Cost accounting: 4 years (Preferred)
• Budgeting and Forecasting: 4 years (Preferred)
• Inventory management: 4 years (Preferred)
• Compliance and Auditing: 4 years (Preferred)
• IFRS: 4 years (Preferred)
• Cost control: 4 years (Preferred)
