Janitorial Supervisor supervises the cleaning and maintenance of buildings/facilities. Trains and supervises the custodial staff to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operation. Being a Janitorial Supervisor orders, stocks and replenishes supplies, and provides the tools and equipment needed to perform required maintenance. May require a high school diploma. Additionally, Janitorial Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Position Responsibilities: Includes any or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned. This job description is subject to change. The Site Supervisor trains new employees. Helps the Operations Manager resolve employee and customer issues. Assigns tasks to workers and inspects completed work for conformance to standards. Oversees and follows up on safety requirements with new employees including site-specific training. Records employees’ hours worked or supervise the timekeeping. Performs the duties of workers they supervise if needed. Site Inspections  Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises hourly general cleaners. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to learn basic cleaning principles and techniques. Ability to perceive identification numbers marked on material and be able to read and understand numbers and volumes.
