Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients. Being a Job Developer evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs. Coaches and prepares candidate for interview and entry into the workforce. Additionally, Job Developer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Job Developer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job Developer for People with Disabilities

  • The Job Developer is a full-time position working Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. The starting hourly wage for the Job Developer is between $19-$20, depending on experience. The education requirement for the Job Developer position is a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Rehabilitation, Education or related field or High School Diploma with 4 years experience in the disability service field. The Job Developer will be working as part of our Work Services Program and will complete the following tasks.

    • Meet weekly prospecting and placement targets established by management team using tracking tools provided.
    • Document employer/volunteer site visits and contacts.
    • Work with potential employers to identify needs which can be filled by people we serve.
    • Plan and organize job fairs, information sessions, and employer presentations, leveraging community resources and initiatives in these efforts.
    • Work closely with community resources that support workforce initiatives.
    • Work with employers to secure job matches, internships and volunteer positions.
    • Network with community partners and contacts, maintaining a high level of knowledge related to current employment trends and opportunities.
    • Maintain knowledge of skills and abilities sought by employers for the development of training curriculum for prospective employees.
    • Meet with employers to discuss and explore potential employment and volunteer opportunities.
    • Document and map local employment opportunities.
    • Meet regularly with staff in Employment and Community Programming to discuss community needs and brainstorm potential employment and volunteer matches.
    • Maintain database documenting employer assessments of job needs.
    • Be aware of funder programs available.
    • Provide workforce readiness training as needed.
    • Assist in the development of Positive Personal Profiles
    • Maintain knowledge of potential workers to support job matching activities.
    • Maintain a schedule of contacts with current and potential employers to continually evaluate needs, changes in job roles, and any other supports they may need in supporting workers with disabilities.
    • Provide training to employers on employment or person with disabilities and reasonable accommodations as required.
    • Collaborate with Project Manager and other staff to coordinate outreach and marketing activities, including website and social media communications.

    Requirements:

    • Must be 18 years old
    • Must have valid driver's license
    • Must have reliable transportation and valid car insurance
    • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
