Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
3 years of experience in fixed asset accounting
Strong knowledge of fixed asset management practices and accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
Proficient in accounting software (SAP) and Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup,etc.)
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a comprehensive fixed asset register, ensuring all assets are properly classified and recorded
Track asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments to ensure accurate records
Calculate and process monthly depreciation and amortization entries in accordance with company policy and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS)
Review and update depreciation schedules to ensure they align with asset life cycles and usage
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures related to fixed assets
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, detailing asset status, depreciation, and net book value
Assist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules and facilitate external audits for fixed assets
Perform regular reconciliations of fixed asset accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
Reconcile asset movements with accounting records to ensure accuracy of financial data
Support asset tagging and identification initiatives to ensure all assets are accounted for and easily traceable
Work with other departments to conduct periodic physical asset inventories
Develop and maintain processes for asset capitalization and disposal
Ensure proper documentation and approvals for capital expenditures, asset disposals, and transfers
Collaborate with the finance team to improve fixed asset accounting processes and procedures
Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices regarding fixed asset management
