What you'll do

As the OEM Technician for Spartan® RV Chassis (Shyft Group Brands) based at our facility in Bristol, IN, you will be responsible for coordinating the prompt resolution of issues that affect our product at the OEM level such as installation of ship short components, replacement of non-conforming parts and systems, and more.

Aside from resolving OEM issues, you will play a vital role in completing consistent and quality service repairs and will be tasked to perform additional responsibilities as your career progresses. You will also gain insight into various business units, giving you opportunities to develop your skills and advance your career.

You will also be accountable for:

• Promptly resolving problems found at the OEM facility
• Completing consistent and quality service repairs and initiating process improvements
• Prioritizing, scheduling, and organizing chassis production repairs at the OEM level
• Continuously self-check your work and audit prior processes
• Actively communicating within Spartan RV Chassis and with OEMs on open issues
• Completing OEM forms and documentation
• Collecting and documenting OEM info in a daily service log sheet
• Partnering cross-functionally to resolve issues
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Reading and following detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, and blueprints
• Utilize basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools and perform rework as needed
• Solving complex OEM problems with minimal assistance
• Occasionally completing reports for travel expenses

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 years of expertise with troubleshooting and repairing chassis mechanical and electrical systems
• Knowledge of chassis components and systems, both mechanical and electrical
• A history of providing impeccable customer service within a manufacturing setting
• Chassis assembly experience (Preferred)
• Proficient at methodically diagnosing issues and implementing solutions
• Possession of a CDL license or willing to obtain one
• A reputation for being consistently attentive to detail
• Ability to accumulate personal tools and equipment required to perform assigned tasks
• Adept at adapting to changing conditions and new initiatives.
• Willingness to pursue additional training as need
• Availability to work a flexible and extended work schedule, sometimes on short notice
• Knowledge of PLEX, SolidWorks, and PDM (Preferred)
