Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Technical Manager to join our team. As a LaboratoryTechnical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring quality control, and managing a team of laboratory technicians. This is a vital role in our organization, as you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our laboratory procedures.
Duties:
- Manage and supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
-Maintain laboratory compliance with AIHA-LAP, LLC, A2LA, and ISO17025 Standards as well as State of Maine Certifications for Radon and Asbestos
- Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of results
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy and precision of test results
- Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory activities, including test results, equipment maintenance records, and inventory management
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in laboratory technology and techniques
Skills:
-Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, physical sciences, or engineering with a minimum of 16 credit hours in biology courses and 2 year minimum laboratory experience
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing laboratory tests
- Knowledge of food and indoor air quality terminology
- Experience with document management systems for maintaining accurate records
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team of laboratory technicians
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that may arise in the laboratory
- Knowledge of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes
