We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team. The primary function for this role is to serve as a Certified Laboratory Technician. The optimal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our laboratory operations by conducting various tests, experiments, and analyses. This will ensure the accuracy and reliability of our laboratory results, contributing to the advancement of our research and development efforts. Also, included in this role is the function of fill-in phlebotomist. When coworkers assigned to collect samples in the field are unavailable, the optimal candidate will travel to various accounts to ensure collector coverage, when needed.
Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and experiments using specialized equipment and instrumentation.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and consistent results.
- Record data, observations, and results meticulously, maintaining clear and organized records.
- Monitor and maintain the quality and integrity of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Calibrate and validate equipment as needed to ensure accurate measurements.
- Identify and report any issues or deviations in test results promptly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe laboratory environment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols, including CLIA, CAP, or other relevant certifications.
Phlebotomy Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients
- Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing
- Follow proper laboratory procedures and protocols
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during the phlebotomy process
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper specimen collection
Requirements:
- Certification as a Laboratory Technician (e.g., MLT, CLT, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using laboratory instrumentation and computer software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording data.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance (e.g., CLIA, CAP) is a plus.
- Experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist
