Laboratory Coordinator jobs in New Orleans, LA

Performs general operational assistance in the laboratory. This person will assist in day-to-day lab operations while conducting straightforward experiments.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• 
  Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

• Ability to use a PC or Mac computer and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and to create instruction material, reports and equipment brochures

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Familiarity with the operations of basic laboratory equipment; ability to troubleshoot minor malfunctions of scientific equipment holdings

• Excellent record keeping and file maintenance skills

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to work with mice on a daily to weekly basis

• Proficient in working with databases

• Ability to work on projects under the supervision of the PI

Required Education and/or Experience

• 
  High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  One year of lab experience or college level science courses
