Laboratory Manager manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Manager plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Manager orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • North West Labs/RSL Medical Marketing is seeking a dependable, knowledgeable Clinical Laboratory Operations Manager. The CLOM is responsible for managing lab technicians, lab accessioners, and handling rejections and pending lab work.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor and manage pending lab work, including identifying and prioritizing urgent cases for processing.
    • Investigate and resolve issues related to rejected lab work, working closely with lab technicians, accessioners, and other stakeholders to address root causes.
    • Coordinate with internal departments, such as specimen collection teams or client services, to resolve discrepancies or issues affecting lab work processing.
    • Maintain quality assurance measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results, including proficiency testing, quality control, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of lab work, including accessioning data, test results, and quality control records.
    • Communicate with healthcare providers, clients, and external stakeholders regarding lab work status, results, and inquiries as needed.
    • Oversee send-out departments.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, medical technology) preferred.
    • Previous experience in a laboratory setting with demonstrated supervisory or management experience.
    • Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, procedures, and quality assurance principles.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards governing laboratory testing (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA).
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
