Under the general supervision of the remote supervisor, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for performing venipunctures, point of care testing (waived & moderately complex), and related procedures under the philosophy, policies and procedures established by Physician's Preferred Laboratory. Such responsibilities encompass not only the internal functioning of Physician's Preferred Laboratory but also the integration of the lab. The phlebotomist supports an organization culture for service excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.
The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off Thursday through Wednesday from 5:00am to 5:00pm plus on call hours. Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will have scheduled hours from 5:00am to 5:00pm along with being on call after hours. Saturday and Sunday during the 7 days on will be on call hours.
A high school diploma or equivalent as well as a phlebotomy certificate are required. Experience as a phlebotomist is preferred. Valid Drivers License required.
Must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and communicate with patients, family, staff, physicians, and others.
