Lactation Consultant Full Time Days Position Summary
Provides knowledge in the practice of lactation management.
Assesses patient’s needs, diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention, and evaluates outcomes.
Responsibilities
Conducts prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluates educational outcomes.
Provides outpatient care, consultation and home visits for families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties.
Serves as consultant for physicians and other healthcare providers concerning lactation as it relates to patient’s health problems.
Certifications: IBCLC REQUIRED
THE LACTATION CONSULTANT FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Education
Required: Graduate from an academic program in human lactation and breastfeeding that includes both the didactic and clinical instruction.
Experience
Required: Experience working with Mother Baby couplets in low and high risk situations.
Certifications
Required: Must be certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). CPR.
