Laundry Manager - Healthcare manages the daily operations of a laundry services department for a healthcare facility. Assigns and reviews the work of a laundry employees engaged in receiving, washing, ironing, packaging and delivering laundry to various departments. Being a Laundry Manager - Healthcare may require a high school diploma or its equivalent or in a related area. Typically reports to a director. The Laundry Manager - Healthcare supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. What you’ll do:
The Brass Tacks- Launders, alters and repairs linens, towels and other items in accordance with established standards
- Maintains linen and towel par levels for all hotel operations
- Removes damaged and stained linen from circulation. Makes repairs when possible. Reports items with damage beyond repair
- Sorts and prepares soiled hotel linen, and other laundry for pickup by contracted laundry service(s). Receives and processes laundry service deliveries
- Keeps accurate and complete records of laundry services
- Follows all safety procedure and reports all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Uses equipment and chemicals only as intended
- Keeps work area and inventory clean and organized
- Assists fellow housekeeping team members when possible and appropriate
- Knowledge of cleaning/laundry techniques/chemical applications a plus
- Desire to work in a fast-paced role
- Must be able to remain in stationary position throughout the shift
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height.
- Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; and squeezing occasionally
