Description
POSITION PURPOSE
The CBM Team Lead is responsible for providing leadership and communication directly between the Allied Solutions Delivery Manager and the assigned Allied Reliability CBM resources, when not directly responsible for his or her resource assignment with a client. The CBM Team Lead is responsible for ensuring all CBM work is completed per the proposal and meets internal standards for quality and delivery, is the initial client point of contact, and prepares the necessary reports and required audits. The CBM Team Lead will be accountable for the overall safety of the work environment for the crew, including ensuring compliance with Allied, client, OSHA, and all other applicable standards. The CBM Team Lead performs and oversees specific projects and programs as assigned. The CBM Team Lead is also expected to be a technical resource to the client and employees, as well as a coach for assigned resources in the troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment, or identifying internal resources that can assist. This includes supporting some clients in the capacity of a Lead Analyst.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Assumes responsibility for communication and education between Allied Reliability, clients, and direct reports.
- Responsible for communicating the Allied Reliability deliverables to the client and to the employees under direct supervision.
- Conducts Technology Awareness Sessions.
- Submits documented case studies for customer/employee newsletters.
- Provides input into the development of the Individual Training Plans for each employee under direct supervision.
- Assumes coordination and scheduling activities in the following areas:
- Responsible for schedule compliance, route adherence, and analysis reporting within client SLA.
- Single pint of contact for client on service delivery questions or issues
- Assumes responsibility for necessary auditing, metrics, and reporting, including but not limited to:
- Ensuring all databases are in compliance with current standards
- Nuisance Alarm Management
- Management f Change Process Adherence
- The accuracy and timeliness f all internal and external communications and reporting
- Follows all Safety, Allied Reliability, Customer, and other established policies, processes, procedures, standards, and practices while achieving defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and meeting customer and plant goals and objectives.
- Performs Behavioral Safety Observations as needed.
- Leads and mentors safety training discussions with assigned Allied Reliability team members.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that the Allied Reliability Best Practice Methods are communicated and executed.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Performs special projects as assigned.
- Training/mentoring will include, but is not limited to:
- Working directly with Workforce Excellence team on recommended training and ensuring employees needs are met.
- Helping with mentoring/coaching of newer and less experienced employees.
- Supports client and employees with use of SmartCBM.
- Oversees and supports the execution of Connected, Regional, and FTE predictive technology services implemented at customer sites, to include Vibration, Infrared Thermography, Motor Circuit Analysis (MCA), Ultrasonics, Oil Management Analysis, and others as applicable.
- Oversees and supprts the setup of CBM programs as required including development, implementation, and maintenance of CBM technology databases. Ensures information is accurate, up to date, and in compliance with Best Practice standards.
- Oversees and manages all database changes, nuisance alarms, and change process adherence.
- Supports and communicates with DSM regarding improvements of the customers Equipment Maintenance Plan.
- Communicates Condition Monitoring Best Practice methods to Allied Reliability teams. Trains and mentors as needed in support of the CBM program.
- Provides technical assistance in equipment troubleshooting and diagnosis.
- Works with DSM to audit, track, and report on KPIs and metrics and address gaps in program implementation, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Works directly with Allied Reliability teams and DSM to correct defects and eliminate failures with customer.
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness of all communications and reporting.
- Supports specific measures of success to include, but not limited to:
- Billable Utilization > 80%
- 100% Monthly Client Delivery (as agreed to in Proposal)
- SmartCBM Database Accuracy > 95%
- Including attribute information, equipment component classes, analysis parameter / collection specifications, and alarm limits
- Builds partnerships and works collaboratively within the Allied Reliability team and with DSM to meet shared objectives.
- Networks with others to share knowledge, information, and Best Practices.
- Oversees scheduling of regional CBM resource assignments to also include non-billable time such as training, PTO, and short- and long-term disability, and accordingly with FTE resources.
- As an Analyst, manages or deploys technology based on EMP, field inspections, data collection, and analysis when applicable, in accordance with Best Practice standards.
- Supports DSM in service accuracy for billing as needed.
- Supports DSM when needed in the support of commercial development of potential, new, or revised proposals and contracts.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS (Baselines TBD)
- Accuracy and the timeliness of all internal and external communications of team members, and end of the month closeout reports, including analysis reports delivered within agreed upon window.
- Technical reporting of team members meets or exceeds Allieds established standards.
- Databases are correct to current standards and audit schedules are being adhered to.
- Managing utilization across team and pushing continuous improvement during non-billable hours.
- Accuracy of monthly Resource Management schedule compliance.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS /COMPETENCIES /POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education/Certification & Experience Required:
- At least 5 years field experience and associated knowledge of reliability principles.
- High school graduate or equivalent. College Degree preferred.
- ASNT-TC1A or ASNT-CP189 Certifications or equivalent where applicable.
- CBM Team Lead should possess or have the ability to obtain an ASNT Level 2 Certification in a core technology with Level 1 Certification in 2 other technologies.
- CBM Team Lead should have experience with and knowledge of Reliability principles and be able to demonstrate through taking certifications tests such as CMRP, Six Sigma, etc.
Required Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of condition monitoring technologies and their integration, including oil analysis, motor current analysis, and ultrasonics.
- Knowledge of machinery fundamentals, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, compressors, etc.
- Detailed knowledge of general mechanical fundamentals, such as fits and tolerances.
- Working knowledge of routine and advanced data acquisition techniques used in Allied Reliabilitys SmartCBM continual monitoring platform.
- Knowledge in spectral, time waveform and phase analysis. Working knowledge of other condition monitoring technologies, including oil analysis, thermography, motor current analysis and ultrasonics, and their integration.
- Proficient in the execution, maintaining, quality of data, and training of SmartCBM, or similar tool.
Skills/Abilities:
- Leadership and project management skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills; able to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
- Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work well independently.
