WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE:

Support design and color development, production, administration and launch of new trimming collections.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the supervision of the VP of Design, the Jr. Designer will assist in the development of new collection development
• Produce color renderings for new product trialing
• Compose and respond to correspondence with vendors
• Assist in the creation of product standards for sample book makers, vendors and S&S warehouse
• Create visual reference library for presentations and mood boards
• Collection and color name research
• Establish standard color palettes
• Interface with internal departments,
• Competitive Intelligence research
• Periodic textile color research
• Maintain Trello launch boards in collaboration with Product Development Team members
• Assist VP of Design in the creation of process books for each new collection
• Cross-team collaboration: Work efficiently with the various departments and showrooms including but not limited to Creative/Marketing, Sampling, and Purchasing
• All other duties as assigned by Senior Management

WHO YOU ARE:

• Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
• 2 years’ experience in textile/interiors/trimming industry (e.g., jobbers, mill manufacturers, etc.)
• BFA or BS in Textiles Design or Interior Design
• Demonstrate excellent sense of color
• Familiarity with luxury Home Furnishings Textile brands
• Excellent attention to detail; accurate and detail orientated on assigned projects
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Prior interior design industry experience helpful
• Flexible schedule required (occasional deadline-sensitive work outside normal 9-6 hours)
