Avenues Proper is a neighborhood restaurant tucked in the heart of the Avenues. We seek a dedicated and motivated FOH shift lead to join our team. 

Shift leaders run the staff when the manager is not on duty. Shift leaders must be able to direct other employees through their daily routines and interact with customers to make sure that they have a satisfactory experience. Shift leads must act as quality control, ensuring customer satisfaction through training employees properly and adhering to company policy. It is the shift leader's job to be able to do all the required FOH positions if needed. Shift leads act as the first line of defense for customer issues and employee disagreements when the manager is unavailable. The candidate must be able to work in a high-paced environment, maintain a positive attitude, and have the ability to work well under pressure.

Job duties include but are not limited to

• Ensuring the shift is adequately staffed & stepping in where necessary
• Develop and assign tasks to staff members, oversee the completion of tasks
• Resolve customer issues
• Train new hires 
• Must be able to make decisions quickly and confidently based on company policies and practices
• Counting tills in the morning and closing tills at night
• Responsible for making sure morning and nightly side work are completed
• Completing end-of-day and beginning-of-day sales sheets
• Finishing checkouts for servers 
• Opening and closing the restaurant
• Reporting any issues that arise during the shift to management
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards
• Must be able to serve, bartend, host, expo, and bus
• Must have food handlers and alcohol certificate
• Continuing knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities
• Enhancing Proper’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
• Encouraging, assisting, leading, and disciplining staff when necessary
• Leading by example all of the time
