Lean Manufacturing Manager leads and designs Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. Manages all activities for continuous improvement and performance enhancement. Being a Lean Manufacturing Manager employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Lean Manufacturing Manager also requires training and Lean certification through an accredited organization. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Lean Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     SUMMARY 

    As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our non-ferrous metal fabrication operations with a focus on driving business growth and profitability. In addition to the managing day-to-day operations and ensuring operational excellence, you will be responsible to expand market share and achieve revenue targets. 


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve company objectives and growth targets. Set the vision that aligns with overall DeWys Metal Solutions plan.

    Operational Management: Direct and oversee all manufacturing operations including production planning, scheduling, quality control, and inventory management. 

    Sales Management: Lead the sales strategies with the sales team to meet or exceed revenue goals. Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and provide actional insights for improvement.

    Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and optimize cost-efficiency across all operational areas.

    Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain stringent quality standards and processes to ensure product excellence and customer satisfaction.

    Team Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team to drive performance and foster a collaborate work environment.

    Customer and Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers to enhance business partnerships and identify growth opportunities.  

    Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
    Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives for process optimization, lean manufacturing, and technology adoption to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness.

    Facility and Machine Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the facility and machinery. Coordinate preventative maintenance programs, repairs, renovations, and improvements to ensure a safe and functional working environment.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for the DeWys Stainless Solution team and care to help each team member to achieve personal, professional, and financial goals.

    Requirements

     QUALIFICATIONS  

    · Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

    · 5 or more years of proven experience in manufacturing 

    · Strong technical knowledge of metal fabrication processes.

    · Proficiency in ERP systems.

    · Knowledge of ISO 9001

    · Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS 

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, safety rules, work rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, communicates, and responds to questions from team members, customers, and suppliers. 

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

    Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must pass the DeWys competency test.

    REASONING ABILITY 

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess good problem solving skills.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

    Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License to be licensed as a qualified lift truck driver at DeWys Manufacturing, Inc. 

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the team leader is regularly required to stand; team member is frequently required to communicate with fellow team members and walk throughout the VS. The team member is occasionally required to sit while performing administrative duties. Team member may on occasion be required to climb, balance, and crawl underneath machines when performing necessary repairs or maintenance. The team leader must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT 

    While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The team member is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes and airborne particles when performing grinding operations; and toxic and caustic chemicals when cleaning tools. Team member is also exposed to outside weather conditions when unloading sheet metal supplies. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud requiring hearing protection to be worn at all times. Safety glasses must also be worn at all times by team members.
