SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Online Learning Coordinator will lead state-of-the-art professional learning, curriculum support, and consultative services in the areas of blended and online learning for public/non-public education and community agencies in Chester County and beyond. This position requires knowledge of current and future trends in blended and online learning, educational technology, STEM, and computer science. Additionally, the successful candidate must understand the impact of PDE mandates on Pennsylvania Pre-K to 20 education. The Online Learning Coordinator will support and assist educational organizations, school administrators, educators, and community stakeholders in shifting from traditional brick-and-mortar instructional practices to learning environments tailored to the individual needs, skills, and interests of all learners. Excellent human relations skills are critical considering the range of facilitation, coordination, and training functions required by the position. Strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, problem-solving, growth mindset, and change-leadership skills are required for the successful delivery of duties and responsibilities for this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design, development, and execution of online learning for educational organizations, school administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers.
- Apply current research in creating customized educational services for blended and online learning, STEM, and career related topics in response to customer requests.
- Offer a range of relevant professional learning opportunities in the areas of blended and online learning from an introductory overview to in-depth, longitudinal program development to meet the needs of educators.
- Anticipate and research current topics in blended and online learning, educational technology, STEM, computer science, career readiness.
- Work with state and local education agencies to collaborate and support statewide blended and online learning, STEM, career readiness, and continuity of education initiatives.
- Use change leadership strategies to build local capacity by inspiring teachers to become active leaders through on-going, school-based professional learning.
- Provide direction in creating the structural and cultural elements that sustain learning in blended and online learning environments.
- Provide guidance/support in curriculum, instruction, and assessment as related to blended and online learning.
- Provide networking opportunities to allow educators to collaborate and grow by sharing professional best practices and lessons from the field.
- Facilitate continued growth and professional development for on-site application by providing training, follow-up, and implementation support.
- Create job-embedded, professional learning opportunities by developing and facilitating collaborative experiences related to blended and online learning environments.
- Provide consultation services, technical assistance, and guided practice for educators on effective instructional design and pedagogy using learning management systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree preferred
- Three years of K-12 teaching experience in online or blended learning environment preferred
- Experience planning, organizing, and implementing professional learning activities, events, and programs related to online and blended
- Experience using, deploying, and evaluating the implementation of learning management systems; Canvas and Schoology LMS experience preferred
- Complete course work in online learning preferred
Professional or Other Required Certifications
- Level II Teaching Certification preferred
- Google Certified Educator Level I or II preferred
SALARY:
Project, Band 15, 260 days per year
21-22 salary $65,981 to $82,477 - salary based on years of experience
If hired after July 1st, salary range is $67,961 to $84,951
