Program facilitators will facilitate the YWCA two programs Let's Talk Workshops and Youth Action Council
Let's Talk workshops are a series of community workshops that are meant to be introductions to social justice concepts taught through an intersectional lens in a safe environment. This includes offering workshops to small businesses in the community and presenting those workshops. We hold bi monthly community workshops and contract based workshops for business throughout the year.
Youth Circle is an evidence- based, trauma informed Peer Support Group. that meets twice a week and serves femme identifying youth(12-18) by offering peer support groups where femme identifying & non-binary youth (12-18) youth build relationships and talk about topics affecting their lives. These topics range from coping strategies to body dysmorphia. We offer two Youth Circles per week, one geared toward Middle School and one toward High School
Youth Council in keeping in line with our Healing Justice model believes that part of healing from trauma as an individual is learning how to heal from trauma with support from the community. We provide field trips, dances and community service opportunities for youth to make connections and have fun. We partner with other local organizations to build a space that is accessible not only for youth in our programming but all those being served in the community.
To supplement all our services we offer optional one-on-one support and case management. This is meant to be another tool to help youth build towards their goals, and often looks like giving extra space to process feelings they may not have felt comfortable talking about in a group setting or support around navigating systems to meet their goals.
